A Few pictures from my trip to Connemara
Wild Atlantic way
Famine memorials, always sadden me, these people walked in appalling conditions to try and make Delphi a fishing lodge but fell dead on the road. When you see how rough the terrain is and the fact these people were starving, it is a miracle they had the will to get here. They were to be assessed for famine relief but the people in charge took refuge in Delphi, forcing the starving to walk for their bread, they died.
Their story is here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doolough_Tragedy
